History of the Pure Open Road
The Pure Open Road owes its name to the fact that it was originally sold with an opened, or unshaped crown that could be shaped on the spot to the customer’s convenience.
Today, it is sold with the signature hand-pressed Cattleman crown, a classic western style enjoyed by the likes of Harry Truman, Lyndon B. Johnson and a number of other influential personalities.
The Stetson Pure Open Road is made of waterproof pure beaver felt for a long-lasting, durable hat. Its 4 ¼” Cattleman crown is decorated with a slim grosgrain ribbon and a 1865 Stetson hat pin for a flawless finish.
It features a bound edge wide brim, and is complete with a hand sewn roan leather sweatband with gold lacing and a satin liner for a sensation of comfort without equal.

How to Care for my Stetson Pure Open Road?
Use a horsehair bristle hat brush to dust your beaver fur felt hat. Use short, vigorous strokes, brushing in a counterclockwise fashion.
For a rich silk finish, use a jet of steam to slightly coat your hat and brush your hat with soft, long strokes.
Make a habit of handling your hat by its brim, rather than pinching the crown. This way, your hat will look good and sharp for a much longer time.
Cleaning my Pure Open Road
The cleaning and reblocking of a felt hat requires skill and patience. The Henri Henri hat store offers the most comprehensive hat cleaning and reblocking service and Canada.
We strongly advise that you only deal with professional hatters for cleaning and reblocking, once every year or two.
